untitled

I’ve been having dreams of being the taxi driver /
Summiting mountains /
Sitting cross legged /
With you //

Tattoos on my legs /
Smoke in my lungs /
You on my mind //

They all smoke cigarettes cause they hate themselves /
We all run yellow lights /
And I eat pb&js for every lunch //

jupiter (i miss you)
We all live our own lives /
I wrote a poem for you /
I wrote a song for you /
You don't love me //

I don't mean to sound like a love sick teenager /
That’s all anyone is really /
I can't say comfortable correctly //

I got rid of my social media /
Too much bs /
Everyone is a sheep /

I'm just a shepherd /
I'm a pioneer /
I'm a resident /
I'm just wondering /
If you still think of me //

A girl once told me that I don't know a thing about love //
(maybe she was right)

(some of) my favorite movies

not really in any order:
(kind of inspired by my friend emmeline's list)

*Charlie Countryman
Shia Labeouf is one of my favorite actors, ever.  I think that he started off with the classic Even Stevens, then went on to star in Holes, Surf's Up, Disturbia, Transformers, Indian Jones, and American Honey (to name a few).  He's even in a Sigur Rós music video (Fjogur Piano).  I think that the Charlie Countryman's character is so beautiful (physically and, spiritually?), I just relate to him on some other level- I can't explain it.  And the soundtrack is fantastic.

*Moonrise Kingdom
Sam Shakusky is another character that I relate to on a spiritual level (don't mean to sound basic, it's true though).  Wes Anderson is such a fantastic director, he's so aesthetically pleasing- the colors, the quirky characters, the phrases, you can't go wrong with it.

*Fantastic Mr. Fox
Fantastic Mr. Fox was one of my favorite books when I was younger- I've always been fascinated with foxes.  The fact that Wes Anderson directed one of my favorite books about my favorite animals- I couldn't believe it.  (and he's making a movie about dogs.  I'm unbelievably excited)

*Big Fish
Ewan McGregor is one of my other favorite actors.  He's just such a handsome fellow, with a calm voice.  Big Fish is 1/2 movies I've ever cried in.  It wasn't even sad tears, they were happy.  The ending of the movie is so beautiful.

*Pulp Fiction
Cult Classic alert!!!!!!  I quote Pulp Fiction at least once a day.  It is such a fantastic movie- I love how all the characters are alive at the same time; it shows how chaotic/different everyone's life is.  And they're (all) connected one way or another.

*Short Term 12
This is the first movie that I saw with Brie Larson in it.  I instantly fell in love (lol).  It's a sensitive story, and her character is just so beautiful.

*Submarine
There are just some characters I relate to on some level- Oliver Tate is one of them.  He's just an awkward guy who worries about things that don't matter too much and if that's not me then I don't know who is

*What's Eating Gilbert Grape
(young) Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp in the same movie?  I must be dreaming.  Johnny Depp is a straight 10 in this movie.  His hair, style, how he cares for his mama, how he treats people, especially Arnie.  I may or may not be able to do a spot on impression of Arnie; please don't ask me about it.

*Amelie
Amelie is 2/2 movies I've cried it.  It's all in French, and thankfully they added English subtitles (or maybe every time I've seen it I've just had them on).  I think it's such a beautiful film- it's shot all over Paris and I wish I could speak/understand French; I suppose it'd mean more/something different then.  Raymond Dufayel (old/glass man) records himself speaking to Amelie (can't find it with subtitles- watch the movie), and I cried (just a bit) because I just loved the scene so much (and was even inspired to sample it, lol)

*Good Will Hunting
Robin Williams, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck = The Holy Trinity.  They were way young when they wrote the script for the movie- early 20s?  Those boys are wicked smart.

*Moonlight
Moonlight has some wonderful cinematography.  It shows 3 different life chapters of Chiron's life.  I'd never heard of it and it won the award for best picture, and definitely deserved it.

*Edward Scissorhands
Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder are too good in this film.  You can't help but to feel bad for the inventor that dies- but scissorhands are kind of badass.  Winona Ryder is such a sweetheart, too.

*Kill Bill
Uma Thurman is too badass for this world.  The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad is also badass, but not quite a revenge seeking bride.

*Fight Club
1st rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about fight club

*500 Days of Summer
The classic (tragic) love story of Summer and Tom.  I relate to it too much, unfortunately.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Dechanel are a great couple, I wish they were together in real life.   :(

*Donnie Darko
One of the first mind bending movies that made me rethink things.  I think Donnie's is such a funny/weird person, I just love him.  Genius movie.

*The Shining
Jack Nicholson plays Jack Torrence too well.  The movie is viewed as slow by some people- but that's what makes it so good.  You seem him slowly become crazy; all too real.  I'd like to stay at the Overlook Hotel once in my life.

*O Brother, Where Art Thou?
I love this movie, and have since I was a kid.  I remember watching and laughing so hard with my dad and brothers.  There are so many genius lines, and if you're familiar with the Odyssey, it's interesting to catch the references.

*10 Things I Hate About You
Another wonderful adaption of an older script (The Taming of the Shrew).  Heath Ledger is such a great actor- and he's drop dead gorgeous lmao.  The part when he sings Can't Take My Eyes Off You- you can't tell me that's not cute.

*Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I relate to Joel and Clementine too well.  If Lacuna, Inc was real- I don't think I'd use their services.  Sure, some things/people in life would be nice to forget, but at the same time I wouldn't want to forget them.  Elijah Wood in this film was a bit too weird, I can't lie.

*La La Land
There's a lot of sappy love stories on this list but I don't care because love rocks (and sucks, lol).  La La Land is wicked cute and the songs are catchy and Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone make a good couple.

*Coonskin

This movie is about three brothers (Fox, Bear, Rabbit) who are a couple of badasses.  They live in Harlem and it's such a unique style of movie- almost avant garde.  Had to sample this movie too

*Ferris Bueller's Day Off
I want to be Ferris Bueller when I grow up.  He's a handsome, creative, sly, quick thinking, slacker.  I love it.  He's put into some situations that some people wouldn't know how to react and he does so quickly.  He's a hero in my books.
